How every build gets checked

Seven ways we confirm a part is what it says it is, from the moment the laser fires to the final scan before it ships.

Live build monitoring dashboards tracking a titanium print

Monitoring

Laser powder bed fusion is a sensitive process. Knowing exactly what happens during a build is critical for repeatable parts.

Microscopy

Scanning electron and optical microscopy show every detail. This 100x view shows powder globules stuck to the part before media blasting.

Eltra oxygen analyzer used to test printed titanium

Oxygen analysis

Titanium is sensitive to oxygen. Too high or too low and the material falls out of spec. We check oxygen levels on every build.

X-ray EDS spectrum showing titanium alloy composition

Elemental analysis

X-ray EDS shows exactly what is in the metal. Our parts are free of silicon and aluminum oxide contamination.

Coordinate measuring machine probing a metal part

Metrology

Dimensional accuracy and consistency matter. Metrology captures those dimensions and checks them, so parts fit and function the way they should.

Micrograph of metal grain structure

Grain structure analysis

Different phases of metal carry different properties. We confirm the material is fully melted and free of brittle regions.

CT scan showing the internal structure of a printed part

CT scanning

A look inside the part reveals any voids or unmelted regions. CT scanning is one of the best ways to check a part before it goes to production.

Quality starts with the right equipment and a clear path from first part to production run.
